What is RewardEx?

The RewardEx SMART wallet digitally stores all your loyalty cards, tracks program balances and facilitates a secure marketplace where you can transfer and trade your loyalty points for cash.

The SMART wallet has also been developed to track and facilitate the transfer and trade of other digital assets for cash, the first being Cell C data.

 

Why RewardEx?

Convenience of no longer having a wallet overflowing with plastic loyalty cards and having easy, instant access to all these cards in one app on your smartphone. Earn loyalty points all the time… every time!

You can load all your plastic and digital loyalty cards as well as Cell C data accounts to the SMART wallet in a few seconds. For now, you can already track your eBucks and Cell C data balances with FREE daily balance updates, PLUS transfer and trade your eBucks and Cell C data for cash!

Is RewardEx free?

Yes! You can load and store unlimited loyalty program cards/accounts and receive daily balance updates for FREE.

Although there is a fee to transfer and trade your loyalty points and data, there is the BIG advantage of having access to other program members or data users on RewardEx’s secure marketplace.

 

Which operating systems is RewardEx available on?

RewardEx is currently available for iOS devices and will soon also be available for Android devices.

 

Is RewardEx available in my country?

The RewardEx app is available globally on the Apple App Store but for now daily balance updates, transferring and trading of loyalty points and mobile data is only available in South Africa.  These services will soon be available in other countries.

 

Is RewardEx available in my language?

The RewardEx App is presently available in English but will soon be available in other languages.

 

Does the RewardEx App work offline?

An internet connection is required to upload your loyalty cards, to transfer, trade and receive daily balance updates.

No internet connection is required to use the cards in the SMART wallet at pay-points in a store.

 

Can I import my loyalty card data from another mobile wallet to RewardEx?

No, for now it is not possible to import your loyalty card data from another mobile wallet app. We are working on it!

 

Can I add the loyalty cards in my RewardEx wallet to my Apple Wallet?

No, for now you cannot add your loyalty cards to your Apple Wallet. We are working on it!

 

How can I contact RewardEx if I have a problem?

If you encounter any problem please contact our customer support at support@rewardex.com. When you email us please include a screen shot of any error message you receive together with a detailed description of the problem so that our technical team can try assist you as quickly as possible!

 

How do I add my first loyalty card to my SMART wallet?

Open the RewardEx App and select the "+" button in the centre of the screen.

Scroll through the default images and select the card you would like to add to your SMART wallet. If you cannot find the card you would like to add, select the card image below “Cannot find your card or program?”

Add the name of the program/account in the “Program/Account Name” field.

If your loyalty card has a barcode, select “Scan Card Barcode” and if not, add your membership/account number in the “Membership/Account Number” field.

If you would like to add any additional information such as a password reminder, you can add this to the “Note” field.

When you’re done, select “Add Card” and the card will be added to your SMART wallet. You can also add multiple cards of the same program to your SMART wallet.

It’s that easy to digitize and add your first loyalty card to the SMART wallet!

 

How do I add all my other loyalty cards to my SMART wallet?

Open the RewardEx App and select the "+" button on the top right corner of the screen.

Scroll through the default images and select the card you would like to add to your SMART wallet. If you cannot find the card you would like to add, select the card image below “Cannot find your card or program?”

Add the name of the program/account in the “Program/Account Name” field.

If your loyalty card has a barcode, select “Scan Card Barcode” and if not, add your membership/account number in the “Membership/Account Number” field.

If you would like to add any additional information such as a password reminder, you can add this to the “Note” field.

When you’re done, select “Add Card” and the card will be added to your SMART wallet. You can also add multiple cards of the same program to your SMART wallet.

It’s that easy to digitize and add all your loyalty cards to the SMART wallet within a few minutes!

 

How can I add a card that isn't listed on RewardEx?

Open the RewardEx App and select the "+" button in the top right corner of the screen.

If you cannot find your program/account card in the default images, you can easily add a card for the program/account to your SMART wallet by selecting the card image below “Cannot find your card or program?”.

Add the name of the program/account in the “Program/Account Name” field.

If your loyalty card has a barcode, select “Scan Card Barcode” and if not, add your membership/account number in the “Membership/Account Number” field.

If you would like to add any additional information such as a password reminder, you can add this to the “Note” field.

When you’re done, select the “Add Card” and your card will be added to your SMART wallet. It’s that easy to digitize and add all your loyalty cards to the SMART wallet within a few minutes.

 

How can I view my note for a loyalty card that I have already added to my SMART wallet?

Select the card that you want to view. If you have multiple cards of the program, scroll to the card you want to view.

Select “Edit Cards / View Notes” or “Edit Cards / Accounts”

After viewing the card note, select “Save” or select the back arrow on the top left corner of the screen.

 

Can I change the order of my cards in RewardEx?

For now, your cards in RewardEx will be displayed alphabetically.

 

Is it possible to add more than one card of the same loyalty program to RewardEx?

Yes. You can add multiple cards of the same loyalty program to your SMART wallet.

Scroll through the default images and select the card you would like to add to your SMART wallet. If you cannot find the card you would like to add, select the card image below “Cannot find your card or program?”

Add the name of the program/account in the “Program/Account Name” field.

If your loyalty card has a barcode, select “Scan Card Barcode” and if not, add your membership/account number in the “Membership/Account Number” field.

If you would like to add any additional information such as a password reminder, you can add this to the “Note” field.

When you’re done, select “Add Card” and the card will be added to your SMART wallet.

Repeat this process to add multiple cards of the same loyalty program to your SMART wallet.

It’s that easy to digitize and add multiple cards of the same loyalty program to the SMART wallet within a few minutes!

 

How can I edit or delete a digital card from my SMART wallet?

To edit or delete a digital card from your SMART wallet, select the card you want to edit or delete.

Select “Edit Cards / Accounts” or “Edit Cards / View Notes”. If you have multiple cards of the program, scroll to the card you want to edit or delete.

When you have finished editing your card, select “Save”. Card Edited!

To delete a card, select “Delete Card / Account” at the bottom of the screen and if you’re sure, select “Yes”. Card deleted!

 

Can I also use and manage RewardEx online?

For now, RewardEx has been designed and developed to use exclusively on smart phones.

 

Can I view all my current loyalty point and data balances on the RewardEx SMART wallet?

This functionality is currently only available for eBucks and Cell C data.

We’re working on adding this functionality for other loyalty programs and data service providers.

Please email us your suggestions for programs where you would like to see your points balance to support@rewardex.com and we will try to make this possible in the future.

 

Can I synchronize RewardEx across multiple iOS devices?

Yes.  It is possible to synchronize your SMART wallet across multiple devices.

To synchronize your data, log in to the same registered RewardEx account on all your devices.

 

Can I restore RewardEx and all my data to a new iOS device?

Yes. As you have a registered account all you have to do is log in to the RewardEx App on your new iOS device.

 

What happens if I forget my password?

No problem! Select “Forgot password?” and request a password reset. Remember to enter the same valid email address you used when signing up.

 

What is Points and Data Value?

Points and Data Value is the total market value of your eBucks and Cell C data based on the last traded price on the RewardEx Market.

If you are not a member of eBucks or user of Cell C data or have chosen not to load your eBucks and Cell C data accounts to the SMART wallet, your Points and Data Value will be zero.

As other programs are added to the RewardEx Market, the market value of these points/data will also be included in the Points and Data Value.

 

What is the Market Value of each of My eBucks or Cell C accounts?

The Market Value for each of your eBucks or Cell C data accounts is also based on the last traded price on the RewardEx Market and can be viewed on the digital card of each account.

 

What is the RewardEx Market?

The RewardEx Market allows you to view the current Buy and Sell Offers for eBucks and Cell C data even if you are not or member of eBucks or do not use Cell C data.

If you are a member of eBucks and use Cell C data, you can start trading by selecting and accepting Buy and Sell Offers from the RewardEx Market.

If you are not a member of eBucks or do not use Cell C data, perhaps you should consider joining these programs and start trading on the RewardEx Market.

 

What are My Trades?

To complete a transaction once your Sell Offer has been accepted by a buyer, you will receive an alert in My Trades which you need to approve.

Each transaction for the purchase, sale and transfer of your eBucks and Cell C Data are saved and may be viewed in My Trades.

 

How do I buy eBucks?

Select your eBucks card from the “Wallet” screen.

If you have not yet loaded your eBucks account to the RewardEx SMART wallet, open the RewardEx App and select the "+" button in the top right corner of the screen.

Select the eBucks card.

Add your South African Identity Number to the “ID” field and your eBucks PIN number to the “PIN” field. If you have forgotten your eBucks PIN select “Need help?” at the bottom of the screen.

Select “Add Card” and within a few minutes, all your eBucks accounts, account numbers and latest eBucks balances will be uploaded to your SMART wallet.

If you want to buy eBucks from another eBucks member select “Buy”.

Buy eBucks - Option 1

Scroll down the list of current Sell Offers and select the offer you want to buy.

The “Trade Cost Summary” will display the Total eB, Price per eB, Trading Fee (Incl VAT) and Total Cost of the eBucks you want to buy. If you have sufficient funds in your wallet, you may proceed to buy these eBucks from the seller, by selecting “Accept”.

Once the seller authorises the transaction, within a few minutes both your eBucks and cash balances on RewardEx should be updated. You will also receive confirmation of the transaction in “My Trades” which can be accessed at the bottom of the “Wallet” screen.

If you do not have sufficient funds in your wallet, you have to add funds to your wallet and then return to the list of eBucks for sale and select the same offer if it’s still available or any other offer.

It’s easy to deposit funds into your wallet! Go to the “Wallet” screen, select “Cash in My Wallet” which is below the “+” button. Select “Make a Deposit” and add the amount of funds you want to deposit and then select “Continue” to complete the process through the secure payment gateway. Be sure to add sufficient funds to complete your transaction and perhaps deposit extra funds, so that you’re ready to snap up any other eBucks that are available!

It’s just as easy to cash-out and withdraw any and all available funds from your wallet, which will be paid directly into your personal bank account by selecting “Cash-Out” on the “My Cash Wallet” screen.

Buy eBucks - Option 2

You may not find a Sell Offer for eBucks that you want to buy, perhaps because you want to buy more eBucks or buy eBucks at a cheaper price than are currently on offer.

You can create your own offer to buy eBucks!

Select “Create Buy Offer”, add the amount of eBucks you want to buy, the price that you are willing to pay for the eBucks and then select “Submit”.

The “Trade Cost Summary” will display the Total eB, Price per eB, Trading Fee (Incl VAT) and Total Cost of the eBucks you want to buy. If you have sufficient funds in your wallet, you may proceed by selecting “Accept” and your Buy Offer will be added to the marketplace.

You can view and delete any of your buy offers before a seller accepts the offer, by selecting “My Buy Offers”, selecting the Buy Offer you wish to delete and then selecting “Delete”.

Once the seller accepts your offer and authorises the transaction, within a few minutes both your eBucks and cash balances on RewardEx should be updated. You will also receive confirmation of the transaction in “My Trades” which can be accessed at the bottom of the “Wallet” screen.

You can now withdraw any and all available funds from your wallet, which will be paid directly into your personal bank account by selecting “Cash-Out” on the “My Cash Wallet” screen.

Sell eBucks - Option 2

You may not find a Buy Offer for eBucks that you want to accept, perhaps because you want to sell more eBucks or sell eBucks at a higher or cheaper price than are currently on offer.

You can create your own offer to sell eBucks!

Select “Create Sell Offer”, add the amount of eBucks you want to sell, the price that you are willing to sell the EBucks for and then select “Submit”.

The “Trade Cost Summary” will display the Total eB, Price per eB, Trading Fee (Incl VAT) and Total Income for these eBucks you want to sell. If you want to proceed to sell these eBucks select “Accept” and your Sell Offer will be added to the marketplace.

You can view and delete any of your sell offers before a buyer accepts the offer, by selecting “My Sell Offers”, selecting the Sell Offer you wish to delete and then select “Delete”.

How do I transfer my eBucks to family and friends?

If you want to buy Cell C data from another Cell C customer select “Buy”.

Buy Cell C data - Option 1

The “Trade Cost Summary” will display Data Type, Valid Until (how much longer the data is valid for), Total MB, Price per MB, Total MB value, Trading Fee (Incl VAT) and Total Cost of the Cell C data you want to buy. Select “Create Buy Offer”, select the type of data (Nite Data or Anytime Data), add the Minimum Expiry Date, Amount of Data (MB), the price that you are willing to pay for the data and then select “Submit”.

The “Data Information” will display the Data Type and data validity“. The “Trade Cost Summary” will display the Total MB, Price per MB, Trading Fee (Incl VAT) and Total Cost for the Cell C data you want to buy. If you have sufficient funds in your wallet, you may proceed by selecting “Accept” and your Buy Offer will be added to the marketplace.

You can view and delete any of your buy offers before a seller accepts the offer, by selecting “My Buy Offers”, selecting the Buy Offer you wish to delete and then select “Delete”.

If you want to sell Cell C data to another Cell C customer select “Sell”.

Sell Cell C data - Option 1

Scroll down the list of current Buy Offers and select an offer you want to accept.

How do I transfer my Cell C data to family and friends?

Select the Cell C card.

Add your Cell C mobile number to the “Number/Email” field and your Cell C website or app password. I you do not have a Cell C password select “Need help?” at the bottom of the screen.

Select “Add Card” and within a few minutes, your Cell C account, mobile number and latest data balance will be uploaded to your SMART wallet.

If you want to transfer your Cell C data to family and friends who are Cell C customers, select “Transfer”.

How do I deposit funds into my wallet?

It’s easy to deposit funds into your wallet! Go to the “Wallet” screen, select “Cash in My Wallet” which is below the “+” button.

Select “Make a Deposit” and add the amount of funds you want to deposit and then select “Continue” to complete the process through the secure payment gateway.

 

How do I cash-out and withdraw funds from my wallet?

It’s just as easy to cash-out and withdraw any and all available funds from your wallet, which will be paid directly into your personal bank account by selecting “Cash-Out” on the “My Cash Wallet” screen.
